I was honored to be interviewed recently by Theresa Richard, SLP, CCC-SLP, BCS-S for her podcast, Swallow Your Pride. We spoke at length about the evidence/research for a myofascial release (MFR) and manual therapy approach to dysphagia and related disorders, as well as the question of palpation validity. While our ability to palpate what we think we are palpating may be questionable, palpation can be a useful way to intervene into a patient-directed approach to the treatment of swallowing disorders with a manual therapy approach.

You can listen to the full podcast and download the show notes directly at Theresa Richard’s site: bit.ly/SYPpodcast022, or you can text SYP022 to 44222 for the notes. The episode (EP: 022) is also available on iTunesGoogle PlayStitcher, and Android.
