Feedback from a recent Foundations in Manual Therapy: Voice and Swallowing Disorders Seminar
Social media buzz often draws clinicians to my classes, as does word of mouth from previous participants, but there are times when one wants to see exactly the feedback that SLPs (and others) report at the end of a 2-day workshop. I’m proud of the evidence-based approach utilized in my classes without the hype, exaggeration, and poorly translated evidence common with many manual therapy lines of training. I’ve put myself on record that manual therapy is a multifactorial intervention that relies on much more than resolving issues-in-the-tissues via a recently published review article (here).
Attached is the complete collection of evaluation forms from my June 2024 class in Cypress, Texas. In this class, I attempt to hit a sweet spot for clinicians, giving them an understanding of how hands-on work impacts the various conditions their patients face, which is tempered by the challenging inclusion of shared decision-making. It’s difficult meeting every person’s needs and expectations, but each class comes closer to that goal.
