Foundations in Manual Therapy: Voice and Swallowing Disorders Online Course v. II

The Course

Completion of this course allows the learners to take the in-person Advanced class.

ABIQ 2013. ASHA Course Description: A foundational course for learning how to implement manual therapy, when appropriate, as part of the treatment plan for voice, swallowing, and related disorders. The course teaches manual therapy from a shared decision-making perspective.

This 6-hour online course follows the format of the live training, condensed in a shorter online format. Purchasers of the previous course will receive complimentary access to this newer version.

NOTE: There are both ASHA-approved and NCBTMB-approved versions of this course. When you are redirected to the online course selection page, please choose the appropriate course. Those looking to take tis course for non-credit, please choose the ASHA-approved version.

The Cost

The fee for this online course is $200. The content of this course represents the last decade of my work and study, moving from the tissue-based narratives previously taught into more plausible, though initially more confusing, concepts of neuroscience, behavioral science, and pain science. If you are seeking a fresh and solid grounding in moving your manual therapy model into alignment with current viewpoints of medicine and health, I believe you will feel your money and time were well spent.

Included in the class cost is admission to the post-seminar Facebook group. In this group, you will find video content from live classes, allowing you to see how the techniques can be applied in a clinical setting. There is also the opportunity for you to converse with others who have taken the training to discuss challenges and successes. Email for details.

Timed Agenda

After successfully completing this course, those who wish to continue training will be allowed a $50 discount on a future In-Person Foundations in Manual Therapy: Voice and Swallowing Disorders Seminar. This discount will apply on top of any group/Early Bird discounts. Email for details.

  1. Dear Walt. I’m a Speech Pathologist in South Africa, and have attended a 1 hour seminar you gave with Stephen King from Vocal Massage Training earlier in the year. I’ve done the manual therapy courses for SLP’s that Wendy Leborgne presented on Medbridge, in the past. It’s great to see that you have an online course now available I can complete. Being in South Africa, it has always been too expensive for me to attend courses in America in-person. Since this world pandemic I have been able to do courses online I never would have been able to do before. Would your on-line course continue to be available in 2021? I’ve done the Estill Six Figures voice course this year, as well as the Somatic Voicework Level 1 from Jeannie Lovetri, and attend the Pan American Vocology Online Symposium. I’m also finishing up my LSVT LOUD course in the next week. My funds are thus depleted for this year. Hope to be able to complete your online course next year. Kind regards.

    • Hello, Giselle,
The course will indeed remain available for the foreseeable future. So recharge your funds and then have at it next year.
      Best,
      Walt
