MFR for Neck, Voice, and Swallowing Disorders in Action and on Television!
During a recent MFR for Neck, Voice, and Swallowing Disorders seminar I taught at Newman Health, in Emporia, Kansas, we had Joe, a patient volunteer, come in to allow those therapists who were taking the seminar to see the work in action. We did a short evaluation and brief session to explore the potential for this sort of manual therapy in Joe’s issues of dysphagia. In the short time I spent with Joe, he responded positively and his SLP, Veronica DeSelms, who was attending the class, had some nice incentive to start implementing the principles with him. He did quite well, so well that a local news program shot a video for their newscast. You can watch the clip by clicking on the link, along with the narrative added by the Veronica and the hospital. Congratulations to Her, and to Joe!
Cheers,
Walt Fritz, PT
